1 What is HELLO PAISA?

Hello Paisa is a service that allows you to SEND MONEY from South Africa to your family and friends in countries all over the world.
It is a Quicker, Safer, Cheaper and Legal way to send cash home.

2 What documents do I NEED to register for Hello Paisa?

To register as a Hello Paisa customer: Original, Valid Proof of Identification is required.

1) To qualify for: R5 000 daily transaction limit / R25 000 monthly transaction limit

 

ID Type Required:

• RSA ID, or

• Foreign Passport with Permit, or

• Asylum Permit

 

Proof of Residential Address Required:

• A valid proof of address not older than 3 months (e.g. Utility Bill, Bank Statement, Retail Account, etc.), or

• If no proof of address is available, this can be verified by means of an Affidavit or Employee Site Verification by a Hello Paisa employee (a Hello Paisa Employee visits your place of residence during registration)

 

2) To qualify for: R3 000 daily transaction limit / R10 000 monthly transaction limit

 

ID Type Required, either:

• RSA ID, or

• Asylum Permit, or

• Foreign Passport, or

• Foreign National ID, or

• Foreign National Driver’s License
Proof of Residential Address:

• Not Required

3 Where can I SIGNUP for Hello Paisa?

To become a Hello Paisa customer, you have to be signed up by a Hello Paisa employee, or at your nearest Hello Store.

1 How do I ADD/CREATE a recipient to SEND MONEY to?

  • ANDROID APP – Select the SEND MONEY tab and select the ADD button on the top right of the page.
  • IOS APP – Click on the 3 line menu icon on the top left of the screen. Select “”recipients”” from the menu, select Add New at the bottom of the page or on the top right icon of the person with the plus sign.
  • USSD – Dial the *130*43556# and select the Add Recipient from the menu.
  • Call Centre – Call the Hello Paisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in creating a recipient.

2 Where can I SEE MY RECIPIENTS that I added/created?

If you add/create a recipient on the HELLO PAISA APP (Android), USSD, or CALL CENTRE they will be saved on all platforms.

3 How can I EDIT/CHANGE a recipient's account detail?

A recipient’s account details cannot be edited.  The recipient must be deleted and created again with the updated account details or contact our call centre for assistance – 012-880-1800.

4 How do I DELETE a recipient?

ANDROID APP – Select the EDIT button next to the name of the recipient you want to delete on the SEND MONEY tab. The recipient’s account details will be displayed and an option to delete the recipient will appear.
IOS APP – Swipe to the right of the recipients name and select delete.
FREE USSD – A recipient cannot be deleted on the FREE USSD (*130*43556#), please contact the Call Centre for assistance – 012-880-1800.

Call Centre – Call the Hello Paisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in deleting a recipient.

5 Where can I PAY for my TRANSACTIONS I have made?

6 How LONG does it take for the recipient to receive the money?

Dependent on the country and partner, funds can be received immediately and in some instances it can take up to 24 hours.

7 What HAPPENS to the money if it does not get collected?

If funds are successfully sent to a BANK ACCOUNT/ CARD/ CELLPHONE WALLET, no refund will be performed.

If funds are sent for Cash Pickup, and not collected within a stipulated period according to the Bank/Agent, the funds will be returned and credited to the customer’s account to be used upon creating their next transaction.

8 How do I CREATE a Transaction?

  • ANDROID
  • Option 1: A transaction can be created from the SEND MONEY tab, by selecting the recipient you want to send money to.
  • Option 2: Select the CURRENCY RATES tab, select the CALCULATE button for the country you want to send money to.
  • IOS APP Option 1: A transaction can be created from the Recipients screen by selecting a recipient that you want to send money to. Option 2: Select Calculate Rate, choose the country you want to send money to from the selection that screen that appears. Enter the amount and choose “select your recipients” that appears on the bottom of the screen. Now select the recipient you want to send money to.
  • FREE USSD – Dial the *130*43556# and select the SEND MONEY option from the menu.
  • CALL CENTRE – Call Hello Paisa on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in creating a transaction

9 What is the MINIMUM amount I can send?

The minimum limit for a transaction is R500 (excluding fees/charges), depending on the country you are sending to.
Applicable minimum limit for a transaction to Malawi and Zimbabwe only is R300.

10 What is the MAXIMUM amount I can send per day?

The daily allowance per customer that can be sent is:
With Proof of Address: R5 000 a day
Without Proof of Address: R3 000 a day

11 What is my MONTHLY LIMIT?

The monthly allowance per customer that can be sent is:
With Proof of Address: R25 000 a month
Without Proof of Address: R10 000 a month

12 How long is a TRANSACTION VALID for?

You have up to 24 hours to pay for a transaction.  Thereafter the order will expire.

13 What are the FEES/CHARGES for sending money?

Fees may vary according to country and can be viewed when creating a transaction.

1 How do I view my INVOICE?

Invoices can only be viewed from your Hello Paisa APP via the TRANSACTIONS tab.
When viewing an invoice, you can email it to yourself.
An invoice can also be requested from the Hello Paisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800.

2 How do I get a Hello Paisa consultant to CALL ME BACK?

ANDROID APP – Select the CONTACT US button on the login screen and then select the CALL ME BACK option and a request will be sent through to the Call Centre.
IOS APP – Click on the 3 line menu icon on the top left of the screen and select the option Call me and a request will be sent through to the Call Centre.
FREE USSD – Dial *130*43556# and select the CALL ME option from the menu.

Please be patient as you will be placed in the queue and called back as soon as possible.

3 How do I RESET the PIN if my account is blocked?

ANDROID APP
1. Click on the Forgot/Reset Pin at the bottom of the log in screen
2. Select ID Type
3. Enter your RSA ID/Passport/Asylum or Other ID Number and select Reset Pin An SMS with your new pin will be sent to your mobile number linked to your Hello Paisa account
IOS APP 1. Click on the Forgot/Reset Pin at the bottom of the log in screen
