hellopaisa is a service that allows you to send cash from South Africa to countries all over the world, to your family and friends. It is a quick, easy, and efficient way of sending money. Find out more about hellopaisa below.

How to

  • ANDROID APP – Select the SEND CASH tab and select the "ADD" button in  the top right corner.
  • IOS APP – Select "Recipients" on the home screen and then click on the add recipient icon in the top right corner. Select the nationality, pay-out method and pay-out partner. Complete the recipient's details and click on "Save".
  • FREE USSD – Dial the *130*43556# and select the "Add Recipient" option from the menu.
  • CALL CENTRE – Call the hellopaisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in creating a recipient.

If funds are successfully sent to a BANK ACCOUNT/ CARD/ MOBILE WALLET no refund will be performed. If funds are sent for Cash Pickup, and not collected within a stipulated period according to the Bank/Agent, the funds will be returned and credited to the customer’s account to be used for creating their next transaction.

  • ANDROID APP: Click on the "Send Cash" icon at the bottom left of your screen and you will be able to see all added recipients.
  • IOS APP: On the dashboard, click on "recipients" and you will be able to view all added recipients.
  • USSD: Select the option "Send to other" and all recipients will be displayed.
 

  • ANDROID APP: Option 1: A transaction can be created from the SEND CASH tab, by selecting the recipient you want to send money to. Option 2: Select the CURRENCY RATES tab, select the CALCULATE button for the country you want to send money to.
  • IOS APP: Option 1: A transaction can be created from the SEND CASH tab, by selecting the recipient you want to send money to. Option 2: Select the CURRENCY RATES tab, select the CALCULATE button for the country you want to send money to.
  • FREE USSD - Dial *130*43556# and select the SEND CASH option from the menu.
  • CALL CENTRE - Call hellopaisa on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in creating a transaction.

A recipient's account details cannot be edited. The recipient must be deleted and created again with the updated account details.  OR  CONTACT hellopaisa Call Centre for assistance – 012-880-1800.

The minimum limit per transaction ranges between R150 and R500 (excluding fees/charges), depending on the country to which money is sent.

  • ANDROID APP – On the "SEND CASH" tab, select the recipient you would like to delete and click on the "Delete" button on the top left of the screen.
  • IOS APP – Swipe right on recipient's name that you would like to delete and click on the "delete" icon.
  • FREE USSD – Select the option "Add/Delete Recipient", select "Delete Recipient", select the name of the recipient you would like to delete and then enter your pin number to confirm.
  • CALL CENTRE – Call the hellopaisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800 and ask the consultant to assist you in deleting a recipient.

FICA LITE – The maximum daily limit per transaction is R3000 (excluding fees/charges). FULL FICA – The maximum daily limit per transaction is R5000 (excluding fees/charges). Self-Declaration – The maximum daily limit per transaction is R15 000 (excluding fees/charges).

Hello Store, Pick 'n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, Shoprite, Spar, Makro, Ackermans, Pep, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank

FICA LITE – The maximum monthly limit per transaction is R10 000 (excluding fees/charges). FULL FICA – The maximum monthly limit per transaction is R25 000 (excluding fees/charges). Self-Declaration – The maximum monthly limit per transaction is R25 000 (excluding fees/charges).

Dependant on the country and partner, funds can be received immediately and in some instances, it can take up to 24 hours.

You have up to 24hours to pay for a transaction. Thereafter, the transaction will expire.

Fees may vary according to the country and can be viewed when creating a transaction.

Visit any Hello Store and complete a self-declaration form.  Once a self-declaration has been submitted and approved in any Hello Store, the customer's limit will be increased to R15 000 a day.

hellopaisa is a service that allows you to send cash from South Africa to countries all over the world, to your family and friends. It is a quicker, safer, cheaper and legal way to send cash.

A valid South African ID, Foreign Passport with a permit, or Asylum permit is required to sign up, as well as proof of address. If no proof of address is available, this can be verified by means of an Affidavit or Employee Site Verification by a hellopaisa employee.  

To become a hellopaisa customer, you can Self Sign Up on the hellopaisa Android or iOS app,  OR  you have to be signed up by a hellopaisa Agent  OR  at your nearest Hello Store. To find your nearest hellopaisa signup point, please call Hello Paisa on 012-880-1800.

Support

Invoices can only be viewed from your hellopaisa APP via the TRANSACTIONS tab. When viewing an invoice, you can email it to yourself. An invoice can also be requested from the hellopaisa Call Centre on 012-880-1800.

  • ANDROID & IOS APP – Option 1: If you are not logged in to the app: Select the CONTACT US tab on the home screen and select CALL ME BACK. Option 2: If you are logged in to the app: Select the CALL ME tab on the bottom right corner, select your enquiry and/or type in your message and click on SEND CALL ME BACK.
  • FREE USSD – Dial *130*43556# and select the CALL ME option from the menu. Please be patient as you will be placed in the queue and called back as soon as possible.

  • ANDROID APP:  1. Click on FORGOT/RESET PIN at the bottom of the Log in screen.  2. Select ID Type.  3. Enter your RSA ID/Passport/Asylum or Other ID Number and select RESET PIN. An SMS with your new pin will be sent to your mobile number linked to your hellopaisa account.
  • IOS APP:  1. Click on the "I forgot my PIN" button at the bottom of the Log in screen.  2. Select ID Type.  3. Enter your RSA ID/Passport/Asylum or Other ID Number and select RESET PIN. An SMS with your new pin will be sent to your mobile number linked to your hellopaisa account.
  • FREE USSD:   1. Dial *130*43556#   2. You will be prompted to respond with your ID Type  3. Enter your RSA ID/Passport/Asylum or Other ID Number. A SMS with your new pin will be sent to your mobile number linked to your hellopaisa account.
  • CONTACT hellopaisa CALL CENTRE on 012-880-1800 to speak to a consultant to reset your pin.
